Surely Yahweh is in this place

Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep. He dreamed. Behold, a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.Behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said, “I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.Your seed will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.” Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”He was afraid, and said, “How dreadful is this place! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God,then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.”

Missing It

Sometimes, we find ourselves in a place and a time of our lives missing It. We miss It, because our focus is being shifted constantly . We are well aware that our Master should be our focal point, but yet we still miss It from time to time. What we do in our daily operations, is to focus on the things that are of lesser importance, we focus on our circumstances; our environment, our religion; everything and we end up thus missing the BIGGER PICTURE. When looking at things through the eyes of God, we will see things differently, we will see the things God wants us to see; the bible declares that “…we have the mind of Christ.”(1Cor 2v 16), again it says that we should “…seek the things from above”(Col 3 v 1), another verse speaks of the eye being the light of the body (Luk 1 1 v 34). Peter was able to walk on the water when he focused on Jesus, but when He looked away, he missed It. (Matt 14 v 28) – Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.” He said, “Come!” Peter went down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Don’t lose your vision

How many times do we as believers dwell off the road that God have walked for us, dwell off the road that we chose, we tend to go astray too easily, without even knowing, we sometimes go off the straight and narrow. When we ought to focus on Him, when we ought to focus on being like Him, doing the things He did, walking the road He did, we sometimes tend to worry, or we would rather focus on the problems that we are experiencing. Look to Jesus, focus on the Lord, don’t look to man for your answers, when Peter asked Jesus to walk on water, He was able to do so, but the moment he took his eyes off the Lord, he began to sink – we need to come to a place where we can sincerely say “Surely Yahweh is in this place”
