Slow Down Fast

Let’s slow down for a while,
Get out the car and walk the mile.
For some this means erasing that smile,
And just the thought of this could turn them vile.

Do we even cry out enough
Or have this world become so tough,
We often forget we have to show love
Or even that we need strength from up above

Sometimes we go way to fast
But just how long will our strength last
Do we ever learn from our past,

Slow down…

It’s time we stop and break down our gasps

Slow down and rest you must
Slow down you’ve been going too fast
Slow down now won’t you at last
Slow down and learn from the past

What we want

Some things we get easy,

And others we have to fight for,

If the latter we appreciate it more.

We can’t always get what we want,

We might think we deserve to,

But we can’t always get the bigger part.

Just hang in there, just hold on tight,

Not always easy, don’t give up the fight,

Fight for what’s right and with all might,

Just hang in there, the end is in sight.

Nobody said the road will be easy,

Nobody promised it to be the best,

And what if it was,

Where would be the test?

Tests and Trials are there for us to bear,

And bear in mind,

Nobody said it would be fair.

Just hang in, just hold on and just trust in His time.

What if His people prayed

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Back in the days of the Israelites and the close walk (or not) with God, they received an instructions, they received advice. If I think about this advice, it can very well be applied in our daily lives.

So many times when we’ve made mistakes, when we’ve done some things that we could’ve done better or when we realise that our actions were not pure or clean, when these thoughts come to mind, we ask the question ‘what if’. What if I did it differently?

Today, we have the opportunity, and sadly so our country finds it self in a state of dismay. We have politicians following the hunger of their own greed, lives of little one’s taken away, people giving into their angry and darkness nature. We have freedom that’s not real – the lives of children, women, teenagers, elderly people been taken away like a piece of bread thrown to a dog. Is our life not worth much more?

When switching on the television, the radio – the news and actuality programs reports on matters that’s scary, matters that are amplified and magnified by the day. Drugs are ruining our future, or what is left of it – of those who are still sane, they care not enough about their family, let alone their neighbours.

Our hands are tied.

Our leaders, being it political, spiritual, corporate and the likes have only one thing in mind (and in common) – they care about the bottom line only, their bottom line, they have the balances; and what do the rest have? Well, they have nothing, even less than nothing, their hands are tied. As the saying goes, money makes the world go round; who is the guy said ‘one who dies with the most toys wins’?

If I may. I have but one request, if we can’t stand together – surely we can pray together. A famous saying goes like this, ‘ a family that prays together stays together’; if we are brothers and sisters in Almighty God, if we are all God’s children, is it not about time to pray together as a family?

Our prayer today should be for Ourselves, Our families, our friends, our colleagues, our employers, our acquaintances, our neighbourhoods, our townships, our provinces, our countries, our leaders.

Today I pray for Ourselves, Our families, Our friends, Our colleagues, Our employers, Our acquaintances, Our neighbourhoods, Our townships, Our provinces, Our countries, Our leaders. I pray that God will help us, release us from the evil, lead us away from temptations, and take care of us on every possible level. I pray that we will humble ourselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways.  Then God will hear from heaven, and then God will forgive our sin, and heal our land.

Below are the lyrics from a Casting Crowns song:

What if His people prayed

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let Satan have one more

What if the church for heaven’s sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took and stand upon God’s promise
And stormed hell’s rusty gates

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah
If only we would pray

If My people called by My name
If they’ll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they’ll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face, Yeah
And turn from their own way

He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah
If only we would pray

What if His people prayed

My madam supreme

She is my beautiful mighty strong Spanish queen

One of the most willful I’ve ever seen

At times she reveals the green-eyed monster

Her introverted thoughtfulness and analytical view of the world

Sometimes creates a feeling that she is a distant girl

In her mind, one can sense a deeper thought

And this is because she is my promise of God

She’s my heroine, a perfect portrait of a lady

The one who carried my loving baby

She has this heart that recklessly good

And privately she’s consecrated to deeper truths

She’s openly and hopelessly devoted to God

While she has this unexplainable love for sport

Her activities differs vastly from period to time

She’s not one to be found in the light of the lime

In her class she’s mighty and rules with a spear

At home her downfall is the call of her ear

My love has this deep inner need to be quiet

And shows this big smile when being admired

Sometimes I refer to her as madam supreme

But know that she is my beautiful mighty and strong queen
