Banana republic or what?

With eyes on our country

Let’s vote in the monkeys

Like banana republic,

He does it again

First with the arms deal

And now it’s Nkandla

All zuma’s scandals before the ELECTION

But he’s got a small puppy that continues to bark

And Makes statements from out of the dark

I shudder to think of watch dog mantashe

He’s like j-z’s very own talashe

But let them beware, just ask mr gwe- there

What they do here’s

Clearly not clear

With no education

They run this rainbow nation

From one tree to one tree

He continues to mimic Mugabe

The one from Harare

No one can (re)move him, but fair is not fair

Wait and see

Who do I choose?

And why do I vote

How do I choose?

And where do I cross

Do I jump on the boat?

And cast my vote

This is the day

It’s the seventh of May

Do they give their power away?

Who will take the seats?

Is this an election to beat?

Who will admit defeat?

Will Nkandla lead to change?

Will the DA take the charge?

Will Julius and his fighters continue to march?

Where will the born frees be

Maybe this is not for me

We’ll have to wait and see

Am I My Brother’s Keeper?

Am I My Brother’s Keeper?

The voice of Cain echoes loud

And in a tone so proud;

Every time one asks this question,

But just how often do we raise this question?

Am I the one responsible?

If we are the body and He is the head

When one is weak, you should be strong

To them you shall be witnesses.

How many of us have the will,

Am I willing to be broken bread?

And poured-out wine for Him all along

Do I ask what point is this?

Or do I charge them with a bill

Be I strong or be I sad,

Or do I point out all their wrongs

And look at chances they have missed?

Am I my brother’s keeper?

Should I dry his eyes when he’s weeping?

And should I watch over him while he’s sleeping

Maybe I should be my brother’s keeper

And build our bond much more deeper

And guard him from the evil reaper.

Am I my brother’s keeper?

24 years ago. Who can forget this day?
Waiting for a man who knows about forgiveness even when in dismay
After 27 years, he is for given for being four hours late on this specific date
As he struggled to fix SA’s dire straits not forgotten, but forgiven for their past mistakes
He raised his right(s) hand in salute to the people who awaits
This marks an era to freedom without a pass
Gone are the days of the dompass from the past
Some waited for Six hours, others for longer
He devoted six decades and seven years more and it made him stranger.

I wish the African national’s top six can learn from this man

He believed in; “together we stand”
But divided they are now falling
And soon the Congress will start mourning
Four years times five marks the years that democracy is alive
Was not easy, nor without strive
Long live the giants of MK, long the freedom of this day!

Repost of The Sweetheart of Qunu

In less than one month, time will take him past ninety 94,
But right now the world waits together in awe
As the sweetheart of Qunu lays in infirmary so weak,
So humble in unity, together lays and kneel the meek.
Seeking and asking and praying they speak
For him to gain strength and health and return home after weeks
The sadness, the anger, the frustration, the fear,
Is this a sign that his end is near?
The rainbow, the nation, the nobel, the peace and the prize,
Will another like him arise to be as wise?
We cannot expect that he live forever,
Even the great men who endeavor…
Have to say ‘goodbye’ one time or another,
and make way for another brother to be discovered!

What if His people prayed

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Back in the days of the Israelites and the close walk (or not) with God, they received an instructions, they received advice. If I think about this advice, it can very well be applied in our daily lives.

So many times when we’ve made mistakes, when we’ve done some things that we could’ve done better or when we realise that our actions were not pure or clean, when these thoughts come to mind, we ask the question ‘what if’. What if I did it differently?

Today, we have the opportunity, and sadly so our country finds it self in a state of dismay. We have politicians following the hunger of their own greed, lives of little one’s taken away, people giving into their angry and darkness nature. We have freedom that’s not real – the lives of children, women, teenagers, elderly people been taken away like a piece of bread thrown to a dog. Is our life not worth much more?

When switching on the television, the radio – the news and actuality programs reports on matters that’s scary, matters that are amplified and magnified by the day. Drugs are ruining our future, or what is left of it – of those who are still sane, they care not enough about their family, let alone their neighbours.

Our hands are tied.

Our leaders, being it political, spiritual, corporate and the likes have only one thing in mind (and in common) – they care about the bottom line only, their bottom line, they have the balances; and what do the rest have? Well, they have nothing, even less than nothing, their hands are tied. As the saying goes, money makes the world go round; who is the guy said ‘one who dies with the most toys wins’?

If I may. I have but one request, if we can’t stand together – surely we can pray together. A famous saying goes like this, ‘ a family that prays together stays together’; if we are brothers and sisters in Almighty God, if we are all God’s children, is it not about time to pray together as a family?

Our prayer today should be for Ourselves, Our families, our friends, our colleagues, our employers, our acquaintances, our neighbourhoods, our townships, our provinces, our countries, our leaders.

Today I pray for Ourselves, Our families, Our friends, Our colleagues, Our employers, Our acquaintances, Our neighbourhoods, Our townships, Our provinces, Our countries, Our leaders. I pray that God will help us, release us from the evil, lead us away from temptations, and take care of us on every possible level. I pray that we will humble ourselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways.  Then God will hear from heaven, and then God will forgive our sin, and heal our land.

Below are the lyrics from a Casting Crowns song:

What if His people prayed

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let Satan have one more

What if the church for heaven’s sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took and stand upon God’s promise
And stormed hell’s rusty gates

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah
If only we would pray

If My people called by My name
If they’ll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they’ll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face, Yeah
And turn from their own way

He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He’s answered loud and clear, Yeah
If only we would pray

What if His people prayed

Tokyo Terror in New York

Life is haunting you my friend

As you set your feet on US land

You looked around and looked ahead

And they saw you as a threat

Your name remains on the ‘wanted’ scroll

Even though this scroll is very old

seems to be like a blast from your past

When you were among the ‘terror’ class

This is such a shameful amiss

That They still see him as a terrorist

Even when Bush signed the bill

To clear the list and make it null

Some appear to be on it still
