Who is Jesus?
Have you heard about the man called Jesus yet, do you know who He is? Have you met this man yet, do you know what He can do for you? Why was He born, what is His role in life?
Do you need answers to the above questions, then you have to read further, and you will learn more about Jesus.
Let’s look at a brief description of Him. In the beginning when God created mankind, God created them to be in perfect fellowship with Him. Please note that God created them blameless, without fault, and without sin, God gave only one commandment to them; not to eat of the fruit of the tree that’s in the middle of the garden. This was not the case though.
The first man and woman were easily misled by the enemy and fell into his trap of wickedness, Immediately when they went against God’s will, they opened a door for the enemy.
The devil probably thought that he was victorious, because I get the idea that he wants to battle the Lord and His good works in every aspect of it and every opportunity he gets, he wants to be a thread.
Some hundred years after the initial sin, the laws were introduced to lead us, to guide us from not doing sin, those living in that time had to abide by the law (burnt offers, sacrifices, etc.), but the law could not take away the sin. The Bible says that through one man sin came into this world,
but it also says that by the Blood of Jesus Christ we are freed by the curse of the law.
Jesus came in order for us to have a way back to God; Jesus came so that we may have life and have it in abundance. Jesus died to be the ultimate sacrifice; He paid the price that no other man could do. Jesus, the Christ died so that we could have perfect fellowship with God like in the beginning when God created Adam and Eve. This fellowship that God had with Adam and Eve were broken by them failing to be obedient to God’s commandment and brought sin into this life.
Through sin that came into existence came death, the book of Romans mentions it, “the wages of sin is death”, but through Christ Jesus, came everlasting life.
What is sin / does sin still exist?
Ever heard the phrase; “we are born into a sinful world”? The Bible declares that all have sinned and fall sort of the glory of God, because of our sinful nature, we have to convert ourselves everyday. This merely means that we ought to pray to our God daily acknowledging that we have sinned and asking for forgiveness in Jesus.
That still doesn’t answer the question; sin is fleshly. Whatever is done out of lack of control due to the flesh, is a sin. Sin goes directly against the will of God, sin and love cannot go hand in hand, it goes directly against each other. When someone sin, he/she feels as if he/she is separated from God, sin brings this feeling of separation. God wants us to be close to Him, but the devil hates the closeness, therefore he wants us to continually live in sin, live sinfully – this will bring the separation or the feeling of separation that one feels when he partakes in sin.
How do we get rid of sin?
Live in the spirit! (Galatians 5: 19-21) Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
As long as a person live by the flesh, in other words, as long as you are still practicing any of the above, it is clear that sin still do still exist and is active in one’s life. I believe that sin still exists in the world today, because Jesus says in the book of John that the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin (chapter 16:8)
(Romans 8: 8 – 14) Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His`. If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.
Due to the sin that were brought into existence, we all were doomed to die and spent eternity in a place called hell, but God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) so that whosever believe in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.
What can you do so that sin does not reign in your life?
Shall we then continue to live in sin, is the question that Paul asked the Romans. We can put away sin by living by the will of the almighty God and Saviour Jesus who is also known as Christ.
The Word of God teaches that we shall confess with our mouth that we are sinners, acknowledge that we need Jesus in our lives; we will be free from the curse of sin. After accepting Jesus into our lives, we shall do the will of the Father in heaven. Doing the will of the Father in heaven also includes spending lots of time, reading and studying the bible, praying regularly, hence building up the relationship, and being in perfect fellowship with God almighty.
If you want to be in perfect fellowship with God, and you want the spirit of God to be active in you, you have to admit with your mouth that you are a sinner and ask the Lord to forgive you. If this is what you really want to do, and you want to live for the Lord, please say the following prayer.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging that I am a sinner, I have done much wrong. Lord I cannot live my life the way I want to live it anymore; I need you in my life to guide me to and through the right path. I accept and acknowledge that Jesus died for my sins, and rose again, I acknowledge that He is the Son of God, that He is God. Please wash me with Your blood; please forgive me of all my sins, please come live inside of me Lord. All this I ask in Jesus` name. Amen.
Welcome my friend
If you decided to pray and mean the prayer above, You should know that just as the father of the prodigal son prepared a feast for his son returning home, the Father in heaven, Our Father in heaven is preparing a meal, a feast for your return back to Him. Friend, you don’t have to take my word for that, go look it up in Revelation 3. God is so happy for the very important decision you made in your life. You could not have made any better decision, now you have to complete the journey, which have just begun.
